As Commissioner, George helped drive the creation of Maine's Office of Outdoor Recreation, presented at the founding event of Maine Outdoor Brands alongside L.L. Bean CEO Steve Smith and U.S. Senator Angus King, and oversaw a broad portfolio of agencies and programs — including the Maine Office of Tourism, Maine Technology Institute, Maine Office of Business Development, Maine Office of Community Development, the Maine Film Office, and the Maine Made program — as Maine's tourism economy grew to 37 million visitors and approximately $9.1 billion in annual economic impact.

Most recently, George served as Director of Planning & Development for the City of Biddeford, one of Maine's fastest-growing cities — working directly on the community-level systems that shape growth, development, and opportunity.
